A few essential settings for setting up your spice.

Mast Rake - 7.52m
Measured from top of mast to bottom of hull below bung, with rig tension applied

Rig Tension - 350 to 450lbs
Measured on the jib luff, 28 to 32 on SuperSpars rig tension Gauge

I think these measurement were on the old Spice Class Association web and from experience they seem to work well, certainly a good starting point.

It is not always possible to get the above settings exactly the same as above due to tolerances in the rigging, hull, etc so don't worry if slightly different, also you will need to adjust after testing to adapt to your weight and style of sailing if you want to improve your results, if that is important, we like to do well, but the main purpose of sailing a Spice is for the 'Grin Factor'!!

Our current settings on Spice 320

Mast Rake - 7.49m with 450lbs of rig tension, we normally sail with 350 to 400lbs of tension though.
